Presidents Report - February 2010

We have just returned from a meeting with the organising committee of the CenturyYuasa 2010 NZHRA Street Rod Nationals hosted by Sun Valley Roadsters, also included at that meeting was Matt McKinnon from CenturyYuasa. I'm pleased to report that planning is well underway with plenty in store for the entrants.

The meeting was held at the Clubs of Marlborough facility where this years event is going to be based, a very impressive & new complex, the event will have a dedicated function room with access outside onto the picturesque Taylor Reserve. During the event the entrants will have access to other areas of the Clubs of Marlborough, the upstairs main hall, the gaming machine room, the billards room and other bars. The facility is located close to the local shops and motels...walking distance.

We have also secured Mothers to sponsor the Show & Shine on the Sunday at Landsdowne Park, invitations have been extended to other car clubs to be part of the display with plenty of stalls selling local wares. While the cars are on disply the entrants are going to be bused to local attractions which include Marlborough's largest winery, Montana, also the the amazing Classic Aircraft Museum. With a limit of just 400 entries due to the venue room size, the limit was meet before closing date, and apparently a lot of North Island have missed the closing date.

While at Kumeu we had a meeting with Bay Rodders, the organisers of the Club Champs and Nostalgia Drags, NZHRA have again agreed to be joint sponsors of the Club Champs, so get your teams organised.
